Google Maps Link

Does anyone know how to possible create a link to Google Maps from a VB.NET Winforms applciation, so as to display a specified location on a map?
I assume this should just be a matter of shelling to a URL but was curious if anyone knew the format of the string to pass.

Really it's absurdly easy to determine just generating a couple of maps on Google. This is sort of over-the-top lazy.

Yes, after looking I seen that it was overly simplified.  Expected it to be more invovled I guess than it really is.

OK, here's an example:

I want to make a link to the Google Maps satellite photo of the S.S. United States (Philadelphia's largest abandoned vehicle (TM)).  Its address is, roughly, 2233 S. Columbus Blvd.  That's a little off, but close enough that it's still in frame at zoomlevel one.  So this link works (if it doesn't wrap):
http://maps.google.com/?q=2233+s+columbus+blvd+philadelphia&z=1

I can be more accurate with latitude and longitude.  Thanks to TerraServer, I know that the Big U is at 39.918 N, 75.135W.  So this link is even better:
http://maps.google.com/?sll=39.918,-75.136

But what other parameters are there besides "q" (the regular Google query parameter), "z" (zoomlevel) and "sll" (latitude and longitude)?  More to the point, what parameter sets the satellite view?

Hey John.

These easiest way to "reverse engineer" Google is to simply choose the "link to this page" link. From there it's very easy to see which options Google is using.

Easy.

It's not quite a parameter, but with the "q" param, you can have two addresses, with "from" in front of the first, and "to" in front of the second, and it will give you the directions between the two addresses.

Example: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=from+2233+s+columbus+blvd+philadelphia+to+1600+pennsylvania+ave,+washington,+dc&z=8
