Is this in Windows Forms or Web Forms?

In both cases there are quite a lot of things you can do via the grid's property page.  For Web Forms you may also like to look at Template Columns.

If that's not enough, there are various third-party grid controls.  While I haven't used their .NET version, I know Developer Express used to make a good grid for Delphi.

I use Infragistics' UltraWebGrid. The customization possibilties are almost endless.

You can right-click it and choose AutoFormat. To fine tune there are plenty of properties you can tweak from there - just go to the Property builder.
