Laptop backup

Can anyone recommend a way to reliably and automatically backup a laptop?

I dock the laptop every night when I am through with it.  I currently have it set up to connect to a Windows 2000 server and run a backup using the software provided with Windows XP, but Windows networking seems not to like laptops, and it often fails to connect to the server.  Furthermore, if the laptop is closed at the scheduled time, it doesn't make the backup.

I've got a Dell Latitude C800, and I use SyncBack.  Very well written piece of freeware.

I use Offline Files to both share and backup.  It's a bit slow but fairly painless.

Second Copy does the trick for me. It allows to setup schedules; compress files for the destination; dial in; run on starup or on shutdown.
