Problem with VS.NET and Crystal Reports
Using VS.NET 2003/C#, which includes Crystal.NET.
I'm using Firebird 1.5.1 as my DB, and using the Firebird .NET Data Provider 1.6.0. I can't get Crystal to see the Firebird provider, only various OLE DB and ODBC drivers as provided by MS. I know the Firebird .NET Data Provider works because I can use it to populate a grid, fields, etc.
Is all data access by Crystal.NET *only* thru OLE DB or ODBC drivers? Or is there some way to get Crystal to use the Firebird .NET Data Provider? It's my understanding that any custom .NET provider is just a wrapper around ADO.NET.

Crystal Reports .NET can bind to a strongly typed DataSet if you want to. Create a class that derives from DataSet and exposes the Data you want.
I really like this feature, as it helps disconecting the client from the database :) your server can send give you a collection of objects that can be wrapped on the client into a DataSet and exposed to Crystal Reports!
