Overall MS Architecture

Can anyone recommend a good book on overall MS architecture?  I'm interested in learning more about how the pieces and parts fit together from a development and networking side for .net win and web apps.

"Inside Windows 2000" and "Inside SQL Server 2000/7.0" from MS Press will take care of all you need to know about the non-.Net parts.

Depends what you mean by "architecture"

http://msdn.microsoft.com/architecture/enterprise/
http://msdn.microsoft.com/architecture/application/
http://msdn.microsoft.com/architecture/systems/

or

I would recommend reading "Programming Applications for Microsoft Windows" by Jeffrey Richter before attempting to read "Inside Windows 2000".
