Starting Over with FogBugz

Hi folks,

We're getting a new application server soon, and we're keen to start afresh with FogBUGZ, abandoning the current database and setting up a new one from scratch.

Since this server will have a different name/IP-address, this is basically a fresh install.

What are the licensing implications? Will it be possible to drop the old FogBugz SQL Server database and install FogBugz on this new server as if it never existed anywhere else? How would we go about pulling the license across from the old server if we do that?

Thanks
Matt

That should work.  Just drop the old database, and install FogBugz on the new server.  Then use your original order number and install the licenses on the new server.  Provided FogBugz is uninstalled from the first server this should work fine.

Thanks Michael. I'll give it a whirl and will no doubt post if there are any issues. :)

Something that just occurred to me: Will it matter if the new machine has a different name & IP address? We're not decommissioning the old machine - just moving FogBugz.

You'll be fine, you can just install on the new machine as above.
