How can I show more or fewer columns in a Filter?

There are a few columns I would like to see in a filter that never appear in the filter. Let's start with those columns in the Sort By list. If I want to search by Area, Category, and Fix For, only the top level Area is shown in the filter's results. I would like to see columns for Category and Fix For.

Is there anyway I can customize the output to show additional columns?

The short answer is that you cannot add columns to the list view. Not without modifying the source code. But you can work around this to some extent: to "add" category, make that the first thing "sorted by". The first thing sorted by will become group headers.

Thanks for the fast response. I see what you mean about the List View. Is there anyway to customize the Grid View to show actual time to completion or other fields I may be interested in?

Well... time estimate is one of the columns shown. You can't customize the fields shown unless you want to write some ASP (or PHP on the non Windows versions). You may be interested in using Access or Excel reports though:
