MS Excel - MS Query problem when creating a Report

Hi,

I'm trying to follow your instuctions on how to create a reprort using Excel and I'm having trouble inserting a pivot table from our SQL FB database. Basically everything works ok until I press cancel on the "Query Wizard" popup window. Then instead of seeing the "Contiue editing this query in Microsoft Query" message I see a text box saying;

"Microsoft Excel did not recieve any information from Microsoft Query."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could it be a permissions problem, for example you may not have permissions to read the fogbugz database...

I've given myself full permissions and the same response is observed.

I am using Excel 97. If that helps.

Using a combination of the most recent version of MS Query seemed to cause this problem.

I have upgraded to Office 2003 and all works as advertised on the FB link I posted earlier.

I should have said "a combination of the most recent version of MS Query with Excel 97" casued this problem.
