FogBUGZ on Unix

It's great news that FogBUGZ will finally be available on Unix.  I used to use FogBUGZ at my old company, and I was a big fan of it, but I couldn't recommend it my new company because we are a strictly Linux/free software shop, and wouldn't trust Windows for anything as critical as this.

So some questions: is this the full version? Is this a half-hearted cut-down version? Have you rewritten the Windows version in PHP so you're using the same code base?

Yup, full-version.  No cut-downs. Same codebase (codebase is still in asp... a post-asp compiler outputs the php version).

Any estimated time when we can expect to see the Unix version?

A matter of days. There are already FogBUGZ for Unix knowledge base articles leaking onto the Fog Creek Website...  like "Is My System Ready for FogBUGZ for Unix" at

Is the ASP -> PHP conversor sounds pretty cool. Is it something you developed in-house or available commercially? The automated tools I have seen in the past were a faillure, but I guess the difference here is between developing a custom-designed solution for a particular app and a general solution.

Sometime in the next month or two I'll write an article about it for Joel on Software....
