Links to intranet UNC files?

We're considering migrating to FogBugz, and were wondering if (for document control reasons) it's possible to insert a clickable link to an internally hosted document, instead of actually attaching the whole thing?  Ideally, if the corresponding application handler was installed locally (Excel, Word, etc...), it would open the linked file.

For example, including a hyperlink to something like:

\\myServer\myFolder\myDoc.doc

or

S:\myServer\myFolder\myDoc.doc

Thanks.

Sure.  You'd just type

file:///S:\myServer\myFolder\myDoc.doc

in the text and it would be a clickable link.

Really?

Not on MY installation ... just looks like text, not a clickable link.

Is there some other magic needed for this?

Just the latest version.. 3.1.9
You must have an older version.  You can upgrade or look in util.asp for the function translatetextintolinks and change the pattern line to
    re.Pattern = "((file|ftp|https?|ms-help)\:\/\/[^\s\<\>\)]*)"

if the pattern line isn't there, then you'll need to upgrade and then search for the pattern line.

(note: you'll need the pattern line regardless because 3.1.9 has a typo in that line-- the ? is in the wrong place)
