Malformed URLs

We create links in FogBUGZ to our Microsoft SharePoint service. However, many of the document titles in SharePoint  automatically get changed - most of them with some version at the end (e.g. SpecificationX (2.0).doc). When I copy the link into FogBUGZ and save it, the hyperlink stops before the closing parenthesis. So, the link I get will be something like "http://server/path/Specification (2.0" cutting off ").doc".

Is there a space there before the (?

Yes, there is a space, which is also not handled. Does the whole string need to be URL encoded?

Yes ... if you use %20 or even + for the space it should work right.

There's no other way to tell where the link ends. I'm sort of surprised that SharePoint is giving you blanks in URLs, it's not really allowed.

A solution might be to add some code to manipulate custom tags, something like [url http://any invalid url/blah], then URLEncoding it.
