Copy and paste from MSWord gets on my last nerve

Everyone in my company submits web changes to me by going to the web, copying and pasting the content for the page they want to change into word, turning on Track Changes, and then making the changes and emailing me the word file.
I hate to retype all the stuff they already typed. But when I copy and paste into the extras window, it retains the formatting. EVEN when I say "Paste without formatting" OR when I highlight the offending block and say "Remove Formatting". What am I doing incorrectly?

Even now I always wash my Word documents through Notepad to eliminate all the formatting. It's automatic for me. For some documents I have to reformat things after the paste, it drives me nuts sometimes but there is no telling what someone will put in a Word doc. Ditto for revisions sent in plain emails.

This one really helped on a table (in Word) that somebody sends me every two weeks:

Most of the cleaners I've tried either clean too much or clean too little.
