Apply template to existing article.

New to CD - am evaluating it (thanks to www.denbeste.nu) for my client.

What's the easiest way to apply a template to existing articles/web pages?

Thanks,

When you say "existing article" do you mean an existing article in CityDesk? Just go into the article's Properties tag and choose the template you want to use from the dropdown (assuming you've defined one in the Templates dialog).

Thanks for the comment.
No, I've imported a site, and now the HTML files are sitting in CityDesk. I only have 2 tabs: Normal and HTML  - so I don't know how to apply the template unless I have to go into the HTML header of each page...

Aha. What you have is an HTML file, which is published as-is, without any templates applied to it. If you want to use templates you need to have an article.

So... make a blank article ("New Article"), and cut and paste the main body of the text you imported into the new article. Then you can throw away the old HTML file.

Thanks Joel...

CopyBoy will also let you import a disk file directly to an article, or convert an HTML file within CityDesk to an article. The final build of CopyBoy 2.0 should be out next week (I hope!)
