V 2.0 Upgrading & pricing

Hi,

Pleased to see V2 has been released but a bit confused & concerned by the upgrade route or lack of it. As far as I can see the cost is the same for new purchasers and existing users is that correct?

We currently use a mixture of 'Home' and 'Professional' versions to maintain our corporate intranet so the 'Contributor' option looks good as the lack of security in the 'Home' version has always been worrying but buying  3 10 + 1 packs at a cost of $999  each is a substantial outlay for us for the enhancements provided. Compare it with $749 for 10 licences of Maromedia Contribute and I'd really have to go back doing a comparison of both to decide which way to go.

On a personal note I use the 'Home' edition to maintain my small (but more than 50 files) personal website, my only upgrade route seems to to be the professsional edition at $299, quite a price hike for the previous $89!

Have I understood this correctly? Citydesk is a great product but I'm not sure the pricing is quite right on the new release.

Check this out:

http://www.citydesknews.com/CityDesk/news/entries/2003/July/24.html

The take-home point is this:

"At this point we're happy to announce that all paid users of CityDesk 1.0, home or professional edition, will receive a free upgrade to CityDesk 2.0 Professional Edition".

Not at all bad if you ask me!

Thanks, I thought I'd seen something like this a while back but the citydesk pages are curiously silent on upgrades.

Yeah, if you go to the download page:

And put your order details in you'll see that you can (should) be able to download CD2 pro.
