optional hide fir folders and articles

While finishing a CD site for a client I thought how nice it would be if i, the designer, could hide some articles and folders for my client.

This way, i wouldnt have to point out what he, the client, could and couldn't change. Saves a lot time in writing manuals and giving instructions.

You can keep articles from being published by setting the do not publish after date.  But the article still shows up in the CD tree.

Hmmm, I think not.

its a nice feature... a hidden folders/articles for stupid people :)

maybe them could be shown with red folders (and hidden by default).

The possibility of hiding or locking articles & folders would be an enormous help. For me and my (smarter than me) clients.

not enormous difficult to implement, but it requires a change of the database....

It's an old feature request:  A developer should be able to could lock or hide things from a user including templates, variables, publish locations, whatever.

I think we'll get that feature. When, on FogCreek knows. Maybe 3.x?

Perhaps call them archived, the articles are wanted on the site but, may never need to be touched again.

At the moment, i put everything the user is not supposed to modify in a folder called "system". That works also.
