Registered Trademark Symbol Issue

If in HTML mode I enter the entity ® when I switch to normal mode I can see the "Registered Trademark Symbol", but if I switch back to HTML mode it has replaced ® with it's actual symbol.

Not a big problem, but when I publish the page I then get the wrong symbol in my published page (an accented character and a trademark symbol.)

My question is how do I get a correct Registered Trademark Symbol in my published page?

Actually it seems to affect all HTML entities, not just ®

I had a similar problem with the euro-sign. I was able to fix it by defining a variable for the euro-sign and using this variable in the templates and articles.

If you have the UTF-8 charset header specified correctly, it should display fine.

Thanks! I added <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> to the head section of my template and the entities display correctly now.
