Batch importing articles into .cty file (Access)

I have a need to add 40-50 articles to a Citydesk site every two weeks. Since this would be very tedious one article at a time, I wondered if it's possible to semi-automate this by working with the Access DB Citydesk is based on?

In other words, can I add an append query to the Access file and import articles directly to the tblArticle table? Anyone ever tried this? What are the pitfalls?

Thanks in advance for your advice and words of caution.

It's possible, but not as simple as running an append query. The issue is that the article bodies are stored as binary blobs, so you'll need to write code to work with them.

I've made the VB6 source code to CopyBoy 1.0 available at http://www.larkware.com/Products/LarkwareCopyBoy.html . This will show you some techniques for working with CityDesk 1.0 databases.

If you're working with CityDesk 2.0, you might want to take a look at CopyBoy 2.0, which is currently in beta. It includes a batch import to turn disk files into articles. You can grab the beta at http://www.larkware.com/Products/LarkwareCopyBoy20.html .
