Go To Top Doesn't (IE Bug?)

I'm having a problem with IE 6.0 under Windows XP Professional whereby my "go to the top of the page" links don't work. They work fine using Mozilla 1.3 and Opera 7.10.

Immediately after the opening body tag in each template I have:
<a name="top"></a>

- and my go to top links look like this:
<a title="Go to the top of the page" href="{$ .link $}#top">top</a>

Can anyone reproduce this problem? Thanks.

can you link to the actual page?

If you are publishing to a localhost, it may not be at the top of the tree:

http://localhost/hereismytestsite/index.html

your link will not go home, it will go to
http://localhost/index.html#top

It links to the absolute URL of the page, with #top appended at the end.

Maybe you have to put a &nbsp; in middle of the <a></a> so it has something to go to?

Thanks Michael. I think the problem was because I had another textless anchor further down, just before my main content. It appears to be fixed now anyway.
