Plaintext in extra fields?

Here's the dillemma:

I want to make a teaser with http://www.site.com URL's that aren't HTML links. I also don't want the teaser to be encased in a <p> tag because my <p> CSS is different from my <td> CSS and I didn't bother to create a special teaser CSS (and would it work if inside there was a P tag with a different style defined? I mean in all browsers).

So I type in my text and the URL's are automatically turned into links. I copy/paste from notepad and they're turned into links.

I type it into the normal view in a temporary article & switch to normal view and copy/paste and it works! yay.... but now it thinks I've put it in a paragraph. I realize Michael has fixed the paragraph problem, but I don't want to jump through hoops to get plaintext output from all my fields.. especially headline which traditionally has been plaintext.

A universal toggle in the templates would be great.

Or have a HTML view available for all the fields?  I don't ever want to see another 'Normal View' ;)
