Anyone use Frontpage with CD?

I'm actively learning to use CityDesk, and so far I think it's great.  Has anyone used Frontpage to create pages, then incorporate CD attributes into the pages?

I'm having problems figuring out how to use Frontpage templates to give City Desk pages a different look.  I know there has to be a way, but I haven't been able to figure it out!

If I copy/paste CD scripts into a Frontpage web, will that work?

Thanks to anyone offering to help a CD newbie!!

I do it the other way, that is I use FrontPage to edit my templates using the "Edit with" thing. Once I found CityDesk, I don't think I'll ever create any new sites with FrontPage.  Getting an existing site into CityDesk is another issue.  It may require some brute force but you may be glad you did it.

Search for "import," there are several good forum topics about it.  Here is one:

Likewise to tk. The easiest way is to select and copy the desired html and paste it into a blank City Desk template. Then whenever you want to edit a CD template, right click on it and use the "edit with Front Page feature."

Once you start doing it this way, I would be careful of two things. (1) Don't exit City Desk while you have a template open in Front Page or you won't be able to save the CD template from Front Page (the temporary directory vanishes when you close City Desk).

(2) Edit the template in Front Page or City Desk, but not both, as they both do weird things to each other html. I do all of my template editing with Front Page. I use City Desk for editing articles and publishing them.

Somewhere in these materials it suggests that you use this transition or conversion of an existing site as an opportunity to clean out and update the site and gradually copy in files to CD. I think this is a good suggestion.

It's easy to make the front end of your site City Desk, with links to existing old files. Then gradually convert them into CD files as the opportunity arises.
