More flexible fields?

I really like the way that CityDesk takes advantage of the relational data store, but I wonder why more of that power isn't exposed.

Why isn't there an "authors" table?

More importantly why isn't there the ability to create any number of new fields with or without constrained values?  It seems pretty arbitrary that there is an "about the author" field but not a security field.

And then, I might be missing it, but there doesn't seem to be anyway to template an article's properties.

And it seems the only way to get db fields into meta tags is to script them in the template.  That would be something that I think would be better done on publish.

totally agree with this.  free fields are impossible to fill correctly in collaborative context, when they may take many values. And loops don't know how to deal with typo errors: constrained fields solve it.

This is definitely the direction we want to go.

Should be nice if you mantain that kind of funcionality well hidden from the final users, because I don't want my grandma messing around with database tasks.

A Control Panel applet should be enough, though.
