Where to get discussion forum code?

We are considering moving our site authoring to CityDesk.  One thing we want to create is a simple dicussion forum exactly like the one here and on the other various Joel-related sites.  Apparently, CityDesk will not do this.

Question:  I've seen a number of CityDesk generated sites, and many of them have very similar looking discussion forums running.  Where is everyone getting this code?

Suggestions?  We are currently hosting our site on a Linux based server, and that is not likely to change soon.

Many thanks ...

John Conner has one built into a .cty file you can download, you need MySQL and PHP on your server.  It works:

There are bunches of free services you can use, usually with a little advertising. Other free or low cost ones can be loaded on your server if you are up to it, like UBB

I've also got a discussion forum almost exactly the same as the Joel-on-Software one you're after. You can download the CityDesk template here:

Again, it requires mySQL and PHP on your server (no problem with Linux).
