The default html page has the following line

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">

if you remove that, does it help?

Can you write chinese characters using the Write program (not notepad, but if you do Start->Run->"write") and save and open the file?

Saving as rtf yes, it open up fine.
Saving as text as dos encoding it stuff up.
Saving as text in Unicode it works fine.

We don't officially support any non - Latin1 languages for this version. We're planning an 'international' release shortly after 1.0 ships that will support East Asian languages, Unicode, etc.

Thats ok

I dn't really need that feature anyway.

Just saw chinese as a language listed under 'formatting of date and times'. So i assume its supported and tried it out.
