dragging image files out of CityDesk

The other day I needed to create a thumbnail for an image already in my CityDesk site.

I didn't have a copy of the image anywhere else (oops), so I thought I'd just drag a copy from CityDesk to the desktop and feed it to my thumbnail-maker.

Alas, CityDesk wouldn't let me do that. I had to do Preview, then poke around in the Temp directory for the file.

Dragging would have been easier....

You can double click on the image file in CityDesk, that will pop open the image viewer in CityDesk.  Then right click on the image and "Save picture as."

Dragging would be more fun.

If you specify your image editor when you right click on the image file and select "Open with..." you can edit your file and never leave CityDesk.  I use PhotoImpact, and it has worked for me.
