CityDesk FileBackup program I wrote

If anyone is interested I wrote a little program that, when run, it makes a copy of all your CityDesk files (.cty), appends the date and time to each one and copies them to a user-defined directory. Then it runs citydesk.exe

It's pretty simple really but I think useful. You can download it at:

http://www.serverautomationtools.com/tools/cdfilebackup.zip

It's an exe and an ini

Read the ini it will tell you how to set it up. Simple.

Let me know if you have any problems with it or any ideas you may have.

Hi John,

I've started using your program and I think its very good. Making a regular backup is a very good idea, and your tool makes that easy.

One suggestion: would it be possible to keep an eye on the number of backup copies it keeps and delete old ones? For example, I'd like to specify in the INI file to only keep 5 copies of each CTY file.  Otherwise, I can see my Backup directory getting pretty big...

A great program. Thanks for writing and sharing it.

David.
