clean Word HTML

A common problem is how to get text from Word to Citydesk without the garbage MS produces.

I've found a shareware utility: http://www.kintespace.com/kb/howto/WD2KHTMLConversion/ which seems to do a good job, though slowly.

It's a VBA macro that runs through the entire text (character by character) to produce clean HTML from scratch, that can be copied into Citydesk...

Anyone with better alternatives?

You could try using wvWare (an opensource project). I used it the other day and it's pretty configurable and very fast. You will, however have to download a fair few additional GNUWin32 DLLs and stuff, and be prepared to play around for a bit.

Also, it's command line.

www.textism.com has also a word cleaner,
or else download the plugin which accompanies Word, for
html export..

Microsoft HTML export does not give clean html and is not much help in my opinion in getting stuff from word to CD.

Has anyone considered Office 2000 HTML Filter 2.0 at http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Msohtmf2.aspx yet?

I copy Word docs into the 602Pro Suite ( http://www.software602.com/products/pcs/ ) then paste into City Desk. Its freeware.
