SP2 and CD 2.0

Joel mentioned SP2 in a recent post, I was wondering: what is the ETA of SP2?

And when do the CD folks think that we will have CD 2.0?

(BTW, you might want to update your build numbering more so that instead of 1.0.27, we could have 1.1 or 1.3 by now. That way, when 2.0 comes along, people won't be so surprised!)

Or just rename Citydesk 2.0 to CityDesk 2003 or CityDesk MX or XP or some other two letter string with an X in it.

I'm guessing the version numbers correspond closely to their internal CVS.

Our goal is to release bug fix service packs every three months or so. That's what the "SP" means.

The third number in the version number (1.0.x) is incremented right before we ship a version to the outside world and right after we ship a version to the outside world. That way if we see a bug report with an even number we know it's just a developer internally working on something and we can ignore it. All the versions that ship have odd numbers.

The reason we're already up to 29 is because betas generally have 5 or 6 releases each, and that eats up a bunch of version numbers...
