Broken links

Hi.

Some links to the KB from here seem to be broken.  For example, in the article 'Bug In Publishing' the link http://www.fogcreek.com/CityDesk/kb/fog0000000074.html gives a 404.

I think this is because the KB is now generated using SP1

Does this mean that applying SP1 will cause link rot?

It seems that, from what I've heard, you can prevent link rot if you're careful. You just need to NOT rename the articles (from the main window). If you do, then you'll change the filename away from fogxxx. You can restore them to the old link name by using (), such as:

fog0000000074 (This is the title of my article)

This will ensure that the fog name stays in place.

At least, if I read everything correctly... :)

Correct -- those particular broken links are my own fault, and I'll fix it up later today...

Normally when you upgrade to SP1 your fogBLAH url's will still be generated for each article until/unless you rename that article.
