GLobal Variable Trouble

I've set up my site with a navbar. The image changes from page to page, but the imagemap stays the same. I've made it a global variable so it's relatively easy to update the site if the tabs should ever change.

This is the bottom code of my index.html:

----

  <tr align="center" bgcolor="dfdfdf">
    <td>&nbsp;</td>
  </tr>
</table>
{$.NavbarImageMap$}
</body>
</html>

----

(without the "----") Every time I close it, it turns into this:

----

  <tr align="center" bgcolor="dfdfdf">
    <td>&nbsp;</td>
  </tr>
</table>
{$.NavbarImageMap$}
</body>
</html>
or="dfdfdf">
    <td>&nbsp;</td>
  </tr>
</table>

</body>
</html>

----

and the "or="dfdfdf">" appears on my site.

My NavbarImageMap is this:

----

<map name="Navbar">
<area shape="rect" coords="43,0,94,18" href="PTMFOG0000000003.html" alt="Home" title="Home">
<area shape="rect" coords="97,0,246,18" href="PTMFOG0000000035.html" alt="Products & Sales Tools" title="Products & Sales Tools">
<area shape="rect" coords="249,0,370,18" href="PTMFOG0000000036.html" alt="Service & Support" title="Service & Support">
<area shape="rect" coords="373,0,437,18" href="PTMFOG0000000037.html" alt="Regions" title="Regions">
<area shape="rect" coords="441,0,605,18" href="PTMFOG0000000038.html">
<area shape="rect" coords="609,0,673,18" href="PTMFOG0000000039.html" alt="Site Map" title="Site Map">
<area shape="rect" coords="679,0,720,18" href="#" alt="Help" title="Help">
</map>

----

Any ideas?

I was able to clear it up by deleting the index.html file and creating a new one, this time copying & pasting the old code into it. My theory is that CityDesk thought the file was a few characters longer than it was, so it duplicated the last set of characters to make up for this lack.

This theory is supported by the fact that when I added spaces at the end of the HTML file, less and less of the duplicated code showed up.

Sounds like the old HTML garbage problem that can arise when you shrink a page.

exactly. when this starts happening you have to restart CityDesk and delete the crud, then it will be gone for good. We'll fix this in SP1.

I didn't know it was an old problem. Thanks for the info & fix.
