Listing pdf files

I have a folder full of pdf files. Is there a way to list them on an index page with a name, date added etc.

Thanks,

John

I believe I found my answer in the KB. It looks as though it can't be done.

You can't script on files --  only articles.  But if you make an article with the same name as the file (but in a different directory) you can play around a little and make it work

I'm doing a site like that right now. It's an assorment of about 600 .doc, xls, pdf, and ppt files.

I made a CityDesk article for each one and paste the magic name of the original document into the sidebar field of the article. I use the other fields for infomation on the document.

It allows me to do scripts that build links to the original documents:
<a href="{$x.sidebar$}">{$x.headline$}</a>

It's a slight pain to use an article for each doc but it lets me get at them with CityScript. It's working well.

That's a great idea. I'll do it.

Thanks,

Ok, here's another one I've been trying to do. I use that javascript code to place a random quote in the page each time it is displayed. That works well.

I want to go one step further and add a link to the quote. So that would be a random quote and each one linking to a specfic page?
