subdomains

I am having trouble publishing to a subdomain. I ftp.mydomain.com . I put the new domain (abc) in the box subdiretory. It looks like it works but nothing is there.

All I know is that different hosts do it different ways.

I publish to several subdomains. I used my host's contol panel to set up the subdomain. Then In CityDesk's "publish locations" under directory, I put  "mynewsubdomain.mydomain.com"

Like TK said, different hosts do it in different ways. Just ask your hosting provider how to set it up, and what address/directory you need to FTP your files to.

For example, our provider places the site in a subdirectory /www of the site.

When the site address is: www.amsterdam.nl, we have to publish to www.amsterdam.nl/www.

When I want to upload to a subdirectory of the site, in fact I have to upload to a subdirectory of a subdirectory of the site.

F.e. when I want to view a page in this subdir:
http://www.talktomenl.nl/routes/rotterdam/xhg/java/articles/index2.html

this would be the subidirectory to upload to:
www/routes/rotterdam/xhg/java

Just download a ftp prgramm from internet, and you can get a direct view on what is happening on your site and where everything went.

FTP Explorer is a pretty good tool.
