Links to articles in sub-folders

I'm beginning to think I should find a new hobby since I can't find the answer to the simple problem of linking to all articles in a sub-folder.

If I understand the City Desk help this should work.

<ul>
    {$ forEach x in (folder "folder/subfolder") $}
    <li><a href="{$x.link$}">{$x.author$}</a></li>
    {$ next $}
</ul>

I've checked multiple times for typos and seached the forums.  Tried every combination of slashes and backslashes I could think of.  What am I missing here?  I have the feeling it's something easy but I just can't find it.

Thanks

Did you try:

{$ forEach x in (folder "/folder/subfolder") $}

?

{$ forEach x in (folder "folder/*") $} will take you to any subfolder under "folder". Keywords in each article will take you the rest of the way.

Found it!  I had an article with the same name as the sub-folder.  Guess the work around for having an article and folder with the same name is a dead end for me.

Too bad, the way I'd like to structure my site would be much clearer if that was possible.
