Way, way, WAYYY cool...

I'm going to sell off the software I don't need anymore, and then I'm buying my license.  The developer edition, of course...

  :)

Great Job, Patrick..!

Thanks for your feedback. To answer the 'starter edition' question: VANTAA by default holds 48 objects, so fits into the CD Starter Edition (e.g. for initial client demo purposes). Of those 48 objects, there are 18 default articles under the /navigation/ folder which you can change to your liking as well as 6 graphics files which are for illustration only.

Patrick,

I'm astounded how you modified CD directly -- added the title field.

Did you modify the CD mdb tables directly as well? That is, does one still modify the same CTY file, or does your program add more files beyond the CTY file?

Boy, if you added external db functionality. Lou's HTML DbSCRIPT is a wonderful util, but it doesn't mesh with CD's templates at all...

It's incredible to me that other third party developers are fixing up CD, denying Joel revenue, and Joel is moving so slowly in release upgrades. It doesn't instill me with confidence that I got an email from Joel asking me to upgrade my version of CD for $99 instead of $349 (or whatever the regular price is).

Keep up the good work! I hope you don't mind if I stick to my javascript menu, it took me a while to find and tweak it...

No, its all within a regular CD cty file.

IMHO, it's symbiotic, all sides benefit including FC.

Thank you.

I think its great because there is still a lot to be discovered in having CityScript interact with Javascript...and also with Server-side scripting languages such as PHP. Pity there are no PHP "components" specifically targeted to CityDesk yet...I believe that to be a "big potential" area. Any takers ? :-)
