BUG: Lost template

I just opened a template in Normal veiw then closed it by clicking the X top right. When I went back into the template all of my content had been replaced by;

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=unicode">
<META content="MSHTML 6.00.2800.1400" name=GENERATOR></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

all fy content / formatting etc has gone!!!

Is this a know issue cant see it on the knowledgebase. Is there a cause / workaround?

Thanks

The workaround is that when you use the red x to close after viewing in normal view, press "no" on the "save changes? dialog".

Hopefully you had the backup feature enabled. If so, you can just open one of your recent backup files, open the template in HTML view, hit Ctrl-A Ctrl-C to copy all, then switch to your current CityDesk file, open the template in HTML view and hit Ctrl-A Ctrl-V to paste. Close and save. Don't open in Normal view again.

If you want to view the result of template changes, this is the best method:

I agree that it is a bug.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't remember a "save changes? dialog" coming up but maybe I wasn't paying attention.

No I didn't have back ups enabled :-(  however I was able to 'reverse engineer' the template again from a page generated with it so didn't take too long to re-create it :-)
