Insert Variable Command

This is something really trivial but I'm just curious about it. In the CD 2.0 beta, the Insert Variable menu command in the article editor had a sub-menu containing the list of variables. Now in CD 2.0 gold I get a window listing the variables. Did the design change or is it because after you create a certain number of variables it switches from a menu to a window?

You're right John, I never noticed that! Shows how often I insert variables...

My guess would be that they realised that if you have a lot of variables the menu became stupidly large and the list-in-a-dialog approach deals with the problem better. It's my guess because when I tried it in the beta I encountered that problem and never used it again!

:re window listing the variables

I for one do not see this aspect as a problem but rather a feature. I use lots of variables -- and a sub-menu containing lots of variables would be awkward.

I did see it as a submenu at one stage, but now mine is a small window. I had assumed that once you get to xx number of variables, CityDesk displays them in a window instead.
