Standards-compliant WYSIWYG

I came across this review

http://juicystudio.com/permarchive.asp?pageInfo=199

of an editor called XStandard from http://xstandard.com  I want to use it in CD.  How do I configure CD to use a different editor?

Thanks, Russell

Based on a brief read, I'm pretty sure you can't. The way I'm reading it, FogCreek would have to replace their existing editor with this.

From other reading(s), FC avoids 3rd party tools where-ever possible. Nice but I don't think it'll ever happed - but who knows they 'may' jump at it.

Too bad.  I really like CD.  It's unfortunate that FC is timid about 3rd party components.  Do you know if they plan to release a standards-compliant editor themselves soon?

From what I can see most/all of the features you'll get using XStandard (cursor position CSS integration, tables, ... ) and many more have already been requested as improvements to CD. I'm expecting (well OK, hoping) that these features requests, will soon be available to us in CD-3.x

Unfortunately, we won't actually know which ones made the cut until 3.x gets released.
