Calling external program from "Tools"

Has anyone experience with calling an external program from the "Tools" menu?!

I tried to do it, and I'm more successful than I want: my program is started *twice* !!

Hey, I didn't even know you could do that.  Started my program twice too.  Hope someone posts a solution.

What's weird is that if I use the hotkey, it only comes up once.  If I choose it from the menu, it comes up twice.

This is a known bug.  The only workaround is to use the hotkey.

What version of CD are you using?

How can you add things to the tools menu?

You need to make registry entries.  There are instructions in the help if you search for
  tools external

Basic idea:

make 2 reg entries

under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FogCreek Software\CityDesk\Tools

"TitleN"="title for Menu"
"ToolsN"="command line"

where N is a number from 1 to 9.

That's actually "Fog Creek Software" in the reg.  When I did it the Tools key needed to be created.

What the heck is the Tools menu? I'm on 2.0.19  Pro and don't have one of them.
