Normal Mode editing bug

Hello,

Normal mode is constantly trashing my input, here is one bug I have been able to reproduce:

Symptom:  Normal View trashes links when single-spaced

Steps to reproduce:
1.  In normal view,  create three lines of text for the link descriptions.
Example:
Link 1 [Shift Enter]
Link 2 [Shift Enter]
Link 3 [Shift Enter]

2.  Beginning with Link 3, add hyperlinks using the normal view insert link button.
Example:
Link 3 -> http://joelonsoftware.com
Link 2 -> http://citydesknews.com
Link 1 -> http://fogcreek.com

3.  Preview and all the links will be going to fogcreek.com because there is one hyperlink around all three lines, like this:
<p align="left"><a href="http://fogcreek.com">Link 1<br />
Link 2<br />
Link 3</a><br /></p>

The answer to that is not to allow the selection to go into the br tag, in other words when you highlight the line of text back off one space of highlight at the end.

Ron misses the point. The only way to not include the br tag is to switch to html view.

My workaround was to create a separate template for links pages and set the top and bottom margin for the p tag to zero.

Also, if there is plain text after the link text, shift-enter works in normal view.

Reread the post, it works in normal view.

The point is that Normal View works against you if you are a novice user, the supposed target market, and one who relies upon normal mode.
