Finally going live...

My first baby steps with CityDesk!

http://www.heise.de/ct/Redaktion/ghi/retch.html

Warning: German language.

Background: All formatting with CSS. HTML by hand, CSS by hand with the aid of TopStyle.

To do: Automatic breadcrumbs for header in subpages. Implement other sections in CD so I can easily link to them.

(Personal site to follow suit sometime when I have less on my plate.)

geraldH :re going live

I get a 404 - File not found error ... using the link you've provided. Perhaps you’ve got the wrong magicname associated or accidentally deleted a file or link.

Other than that -- your site is *feature packed* and IMO very nicely laid out ... *remarkably* busy yet *clean and responsive*. Very good work Gerald!

You are right. The link's all monged up.

http://www.heise.de/ct/Redaktion/ghi/retched.html

is the correct code.

What happened was that I had a directory retch and an article named retch, causing CityDesk to rename the article to retch-2.html when publishing. Which I hated.

[All monged up is a Chris Morrisism. Sorry about that.]

I am still uncertain whether I should sort items by modified date or by published date.
